Guest guest
To Notan: My first mistake was calling acupuncture " alternative " healing. It has been around thousands of years and is just now starting to have clinical studies done on it. However, the Chinese have proven through their methods that it does work. I may have mis-stated in saying in too broad terms that acupuncture cures nerve damage. It may not do so in all cases, such as spinal cord injuries. But it can do it with the nerve damage in Achalasia. It is certainly worth a try in my humble opinion. I will ask my acupuncturist tonight who also has a medical doctor degree and practiced as such in China. I may have mis-quoted what he said. I know a little about how acupuncture works in opening the meridians and acupuncture points that promote healing, but I don't know a whole lot. As I said before, it is actually the body that has the power to heal itself. So after seven days or so, your cold will be " cured " . You are right about that. Many other alternative healing modalities such as Reiki, Healing Touch, Quantum Touch, etc. help the body heal itself by working in the energy field and energy centers of the body to balance it energetically so that healing can take place. I believe this happens with Yoga as well. I know a little about this as I am do Reiki and Healing Touch. As far as finding reflux, I'm not an expert in this, but I did not have much food in the esophagus as I fasted before the procedure and my esophagus does work some of the time. I did not question the doctor on this. I have had reflux symptoms in the past as well as heartburn but the reflux meds don't seem to help me.
