Dear Ann,

Thanks for your concern. Am doing not bad at all. Had my " wobble " a few weeks

ago when everything seemed to go wrong at the same time, but now I am feeling

quietly confident that things will be better soon and it will all be over.

My wife is going to stay in Oxford overnight when I have the op and on Sunday we

are going to have a practice drive to the hospital as my wife is not a confident

driver and we have not been to the Churchill before.

Have lost a bit of weight over the last couple of weeks but seem to be having a

respite in terms of eating and coughing up food in the night - things are OK!

Have no one to keep you all informed how the op will go as my wife is not very

computer savvy - but I will try to post something after the 7th if I can get

internet access at the hospital. Am back at work for a few days before having

the week prior to the op off as leave.

I shall post something just before I go in but at the moment things are fine!!

Regards

Tim

Will you have your mobile phone with you? I could give you my number (privately)

and you could text me from your bed when you are capable of doing so. It seems

that you are allowed to have mobile phones in most hospitals nowadays. I could

then convey your progress to the Group.

Hey, this is great....You know we all hate when we can't keep up with

family in the hospital.

Ann, you're so smart to think of that.

BTW....guess if you're Pippa's A mum then I'm her G'ma. I've sent her a

message, but I wish her and Tim the best and my thoughts and prayers will be

with both of you.

Hugs,

Maggie

Hi Tim

Good Luck for the surgery. Don't worry about posting on the group as we will

understand.

Hi, Tim,

I will be thinking of you every day, sending concentrated good thoughts

of

recuperation and not too much pain.

You could not just drop in for this surgery, your docs had to approve

it, so

you probably need it, just in case you are wondering, still, why you are doing

this.  I have the feeling I'd be exactly the same way:  What the heck was I

thinking?  WAS I thinking?  How can I get out of this?  Jeeze, what the heck

is all this stuff?  I'm not ready! Etc.

And still, you have a team of people here, and over there, supporters

who want the best for you and for your future.  Wish the time and effort

could have gone into a great vacation instead, but, one day, you WILL be

on a great vacation and you will be able to process food and drink smoothly

and without hesitation.  And THAT will be great, too!

          With all best wishes,

              Deborah, at the beach
