Guest guest
Fred, I don't remember any members ever mentioning a doctor in Orlanda. However, I think several older members might have use Dr. Rosemurgy at the University of South Florida in Tamp. Here is his website: _Tampa General Hospital_ (http://www.or-live.com/tgh/1332/content/faculty.cfm) You might want to call him and inquire about how many he's done and etc. Here is a study that he co-author which included 182 patients. _Does concomitant anterior fundoplication promote d...[Am Surg. 2008] - PubMed Result_ (http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/18646481?ordinalpos=2 & itool=EntrezSystem2.PE\ ntrez.Pubmed.Pubmed_ResultsPanel.Pubmed_DefaultReportPanel.Pubmed_RVDo cSum) Another article on him _» Dr. Rosemurgy appointed Associate Dean in College of Medicine_ (http://hscweb3.hsc.usf.edu/health/now/?p=4179) Maybe you will hear from some to the members who used him if they are still reading. Guest guest
Hi Fred, I flew all the way from Kampala, Uganda to Cleveland to see Dr. Rice for my myotomy.? I am from the DC area and work overseas.? I was misdiagnosed for a year and when in the states on leave I was diagnosed and dilated at a major DC hospital.? But I started having problems 2 months later and thankfully found this group.? So I contacted Dr. Rice's office and they worked to arrange my tests and surgery all in one visit in April 2008.? I was just back there in April 2009 for my annual check up and things seemed to be going very well.?? Funny enough I have recently gotten a lung infection here and the doctor I saw at the local hospital has had achalasia patients.? Surprising as many (if not most) doctors in the USA don't know what it is.? Thankfully in the USA we have access to excellent healthcare (people in Africa die from achalasia since they don't have access to treatment unless they can afford to travel outside).? So my suggestion is to not mess around?with someone who has done 30 surgeries - go straight to Cleveland! Pam

Guest guest
If you have an Anthem plan with the national network, then Dr. Rice is probably in-network for you. You should call your carrier to confirm. > > > > Did it take you a long time to get insurance approved > > Sent via BlackBerry by AT & T > > > > Re: HELLER MYOTOMY JULY 1/09 > > > > > > Go with DR Rice-Its worth the travel trust me!
