Dear Notan,

About a month ago I promised you to contact Dr. Gockel in Germany concerning the

antineural antibodies. I got an answer from her and I have tried to translate it

from German into English:

First I want to wish you a happy, healthy New Year and all the best for 2009.

As I have had my Christmas holidays, I haven't been able before to look into the

literature concerning the antineural antibodies. To be honest it is pretty hard

to find an answer here, since there still aren't clear answers to be found in

literature and there are explicite contrasts in what they write about these

antineural antibodies.

We haven't yet done much research ourselves where it comes to antineural

antibodies, but it certainly is a very interesting matter in which our newest

research results prove with striking mastocytes in the neural Plexus -so one not

different form an allergic reaction- it seems to play a huge role.

I have enclosed the work of Park and Vaezie, attempting to summarize the

controdictions of the results.

I am sorry that I cannot help you and Notan any further than I did, but I will

follow the the news and new literature and perhaps I will start my own research.

I hope it is of help to you, Notan. I will see Dr. Gockel at May 2nd in Germany,

when the 2nd international achalasia conference is organised over there. I will

be there for 2 days and we will discuss this matter further. I am very curious

what else ther is new where it comes to achalasia, since Dr. Gockel does a lot

of research. I don't think there are many results by now, but it is interesting

to hear what they are researching exactly and what they expect to find...

I attached the file, I hope this attaching works (always seems to fail when I

attach something). If it doesn't work, I'll send it in a separate post to your

e-mail address.

Love,

Isabella
