Guest guest
Dear Fellow Achalasians, Well, I certainly am feeling aged lately. Besides having more trouble swallowing at night (wish I didn't have this doggone saliva- pooling thingie I've got) and coughing, I recently had a little adventure of another sort entirely. I was getting my two ish Terriers ready for a walk, leashes on, halters adjusted, when I went out my front door and suddenly couldn't find my feet, the wall next to my kitchen seemed to bend in a weird way and I fell down three little stairs, whacking myself on the landing, got a dislocated finger and felt really out of it. Came back into the house and passed out. After the ER and tests, it turns out I've had some TIA's. I now have a new neurologist, some great MRI pictures, and am getting more stuff done soon. And I read a post here a few minutes ago about what to eat and what not to eat and I can attest to the comments that you just don't want the wrong things after a night wrestling with all sorts of spasms and pain. I ate some pretty good Mexican food a few weeks ago and I can tell you it's not worth it, if you, like I do, react to spicy stuff, no matter how great it once was. As I told the guys down in exray, if I have Barretts and it's a cancerous problem, I can always, still, brush my teeth with broiled lobster. all best, Deborah, at the beach
Guest guest
Dear Deborah, I am so sorry to hear what you had to go through! Not just one TIA but several?! My God, if this shocks me, I cannot begin to imagine how this must have shocked you and your family... Wishing you loads and loads of luck to get through this. Guest guest
I totally agree with the Mexican food thing. If it's very bland, it's ok for me. Otherwise .... By the way, maybe I'm having a brainless moment, but what are TIA's? mike in WI From: deborah_lattimore <deborah_Lattimore@...> Subject: just a little update achalasia Date: Friday, February 20, 2009, 2:51 AM Dear Fellow Achalasians, Well, I certainly am feeling aged lately.
