Jennie,

Unfortunately our doctor never suggested checking Corey for lead. I recall

being asked about what type of home we live in and since it is a new home,

I'm assuming they didn't feel the need for lead testing. They use DMSA,

chelation therapy to remove the lead. I don't have all of the details yet.

And, we feel the only damage has been to his speech. He is very intelligent

and seems to be developing normally for his age. So, our hope is that when

the lead is removed, his speech will come. Thanks for your well wishes.

hi all

I want to do some heavy metals testing.. but money is an issue.. as i don't

think insurance will cover. (this is what my alternative doc told me.)

She wants to do several tests, hair/urine/challenge.

But I see most people tend to talk about the challenge only.. Is that the gold

standard? The one to do? " I gather only that one will tell u if u have metals in

your organs/brain.

Anyone been down this road and able to advise me?

tnx

The challange is definetly the gold standard of metal testing. Usually you do

an unchallanged test then a challange to see how much is pulled out of organs

and tissues. From what I understand hair is not quite as accurate as it doesn't

reflect what's in your actual tissues. Then you do some chelating and check

again.

I had a urine test done in May, it showed lead, then had a blood test and nothing showed there. They said that means it's in the tissues, and has been there for a long time. I had to take three pills first before bed then collect the urine all night and then put it in a small tube and sent it off to a lab. I am going to a chiropractor and I asked if I could do one thinking it was the mercury from my one cavity creating problems. Came back high in lead!

heavy metals testing

Anyone know the following -Heavy metals can be in the blood, tissues, brain, etc... So just one type of test - blood - may not be sufficient. What is a hair DNA for? I have heard this shows what is in the whole body - tissues, etc... but am not sure that is true. How do you find these heavy metals when they hide in the body - what kind of testing, if there actually is such specific testing? And can anyone answer what each type of testing covers?Alli
