Guest guest
Hi , Might be a good question to ask you doc, whether you had that pyloroplasty or not. It could perhaps give you an answer as to the why of your dumping issues (that is if you had one...). Furthermore I've been told that dumping issues disappear in most cases about a year post -ectomy (in non-pylorplastied that is). I got Sandostatine prescribed against my dumping issues before we left for Italy (so that I could eat dumping free). It's a cancer med that has a side effect that lessens dumping issues. One should inject the stuff himself right before dinner. I did so, but unfortunately the side effects of the Sandostatine in my case was that I got a kind of dumping within 10 minutes after the shot, whitout ever taking a bite... So I didn't take it all that much, I tried it, didn't like it, I stopped. But it might be worth trying for you, it doesn't harm you and if it works you could choose to use it say on special occasions (going out for dinner, during holidays, Christmas etc.). I am really glad to hear that you are doing fine eating wise!!! Lots of love, Isabella RE: Isabella Hi Isabella, By now you've probably had some food! I'll be thinking about you all day. mentioned having a pyloroplasty with her esophagectomy, so I just wanted to let you know that this was something my Dr. never even mentioned. (As I'm not seeing him any more, I guess I'll never know if I had a pyloroplasty or not). I also had the same reaction as when Dr. Gehman had me try Metoclopramide HCL (Reglan), directly after my esophagectomy. I was " wired " and wide awake for hours. He put me on Reglan to help with all of my " dumping " issues, but I guess I wasn't on it long enough to give it a chance (I was fidgety, itchy and just couldn't sit still at all). Strange, but I also have Pippa's reaction to the endoscope, and I always have to have extra drugs to relax me enough not to " fight " the camera) I am completely wide awake as soon as it's over and it completely puzzles my Dr.I look forward to hearing about your first actual meal, and I hope this Doctor can solve all your other issues regarding the " dumping " and then you can give me all of your helpful ideas. (I still have to be very careful what I eat, no sugar, no dairy, no drinking while eating . . . but I can eat perfectly fine. I even swallow a Centrum Vitamin every morning with no problem. Any way, this wasn't supposed to be about me, I just wanted to wish you the best with all of your digestion trouble. Good Luck! . ____________ _________ _________ _________ _________ _________ _
