Guest guest
, Man, how frustrating. I would be irate!! You have been through so much.... just wanted you to know I feel for you and I hope you one day soon get some answers. Hang in there. OK my GI is FIRED!!! Well I went this morning for a colonoscopy. To my dismay once again he turned me away due to my anesthesia issues. He had not scheduled an anesthesiologist for me, and would NOT do the procedure after I had already prepped for it!! Ummm don't you think they could have figured this out??? I have had this happen once already with this doctor. Ok once I will give them!!! NOT TWICE!!! So as I told my hubby I'm glad I didn't pay for the prep stuff, cuz it was 60.00!! They wanted me to do an barium enema instead. After ummm going all night there was no way I would be able to hold anything in LOL!! They already knew of the issue with putting me under, so it was their fault. I even double checked yesterday with them about if they were doing it in the clinic or hospital!!! So I'm done with that GI..he tried to make it sound like it was my fault that I didn't make sure they knew about putting me under!!! I did question it!!! Oh well..I think I'm done with tests!!! I just can't do it anymore, not right now anyway.I guess I'll just live with the pain and fever for a while longer!!! Hope everyone else is doing ok!!! Guest guest
Ouch no anesthetic! Do people have colonoscopies done like that? Wonder how he would like someone to put that thing up him like that? I'd tempted to send him a bill for my time since he was wasting it -just to be a smart a**. Plus it sounds like his mind really isn't on his work and you don't need that. If he would forget this, what else does he forget that you don't know about? That prep really takes it out of you. Make sure you drink a lot of fluids and juices to replenish your electrolytes. I had the Miralax/Gatorade prep which I think is easier than others. Hope you find somebody better. Guest guest
You want a to get a response out of me??? Colonoscopies? Anesthesia???? WTF?? this is quite a fine display of justified outrage, but it isn't related to ACHALASIA--a subject to which this forum is devoted. Guest guest
Steve, Though it wasn't on topic, I had the same thing happen with the same GI when I was having an endoscopy done, which by the way was for my E issues!! I'm not one to start something so I won't!! I was just informing those that had been following my issues lately! Have a great day!!! Guest guest
-I think this could possibly be achalasia related. I have achalasia and have also been diagnosed with malabsorbtion. In researching malabsorbtion I have found that it can cause autoimmune problems (isn't that what achalasia is?) I feel that talking about our other health problems, we achalasians have, may help us recognize common problems achalasians have. I know it drew my interest to find that another person with achalasia also had malabsorbtion problems. Perhaps others have this problem also and have not had it diagnosed. Malabsorbtion presents itself in many ways. Guest guest
JoAnn, My doctor that is testing me for malabsorption issues actually said that if you have any GI issues that you can have other things going on and not know it for a long time. I have sat and thought back, and here is what me and hubby came up with. About 6 months before my gall bladder was removed I started having lots of problems!! Then when they took it out, the problems doubled and have been on going since!! I've read up on what malabsorption can do and I completely fit it, it can cause so many weird things to go wrong with your system!! I'm almost excited to think that this doctor could be on the right track!!! I just want to be half way normal and not in pain anymore!! I'll find out in a week or so on the tests, I'll let you know!! Guest guest
Hi , Just wanted to let you know that I'm sorry to hear how things went for you with your GI. You are absolutely right not seeing that man again! I can imagine you being fed up with testings for the moment, though they are of course necessary. Maybe a time out does some good for you. I hope you get some real answers soon. Hang in there, girl, I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you for a good outcome! As for you, Steve... what's left for me to say here, other than I wish you a lot of strength too. You are so bitter, that I think you need all the strength in the world to become positive and compassionate again. Hopefully one day you will see that it's not the whole world against you. You are responsible for your own happiness, even when your health leaves you alone... Nobody here on the board is here because of the great health he or she is in and some of us simply have to deal with more health issues than others. What you do is what you get: if you at least try to be nice, others (doctors included) will at least try to be as well. I hope life soon changes for the better for you as well. Isabella OK my GI is FIRED!!! Well I went this morning for a colonoscopy. To my dismay once again he turned me away due to my anesthesia issues. Guest guest
- , Please do let me know how your tests come out. I have been diagnosed with malabsorbtion but am still having tests to find out what is causing it. Unlike you I haven't really had terrible problems. About 15 years ago I started having horizontal ridges develop on my fingernails. Then 12 years ago started having thyroid problems. My nails got a lot worse with huge ridges, my skin got very dry so I started checking with dr. to see what was causing it thinking it was the tryroid. Two years ago I was diagnosed with achalasia. When I started losing hair I decided to really push to find out what was happening with nails, skin and hair. Finally found a dr. who really llistened and was willing to run tests. I will also share my results with you when I get the tests. JoAnn -- In achalasia , " C.
