Guest guest
Dear Millie, Thank you so much for responding. It is kind of you to share information about your friend. I have also joined the Crohn's group to see if I can get in touch with people there. The personal touch becomes so important at this time. He is still in hospital at the moment. I will look out for a message from your friend and make sure it is forwarded to him. Thanks again Millie. That was a kind thing to do. Best Wishes to you from Ann XXX From: Millie <molly01bedfordva@...>Subject: Re: Crohn's Disease/achalasia Date: Tuesday, 3 June, 2008, 7:02 PM Hi Ann I am a lurking but thought I would jump in and give a few words of encouragement. I have a friend (late 60's) who has Crohn's Disease. She has had it for 15 to 20 years, she would have to have it checked every 6 months (a lot of pain in the intestines and back) then it got so bad that they could not get the scope into her intestines (this is so they could mointor for cancer) so they removed her large intestines at University of Virginia maybe 7 to 8 years ago. She does great, still works a full day, has to be careful about getting dehydrated as there is no water retention because of the intestinal removal. She has problems with liquid bowal's but she has a pill she can take prior to going out to eat and it solifies her stool. But she has lived a very normal life with traveling and no one would know she has anything wrong with her unless she told you. But the key for her has been constant monitoring and a good doctor who knows something about Crohn's. Hope this helps, when I get in touch with her I will ask her if she will send info to your nephew. Take care - Millie - VA Sent from . A Smarter Email.
