I thought I would let everyone know that I talked them into

giving me the pathology report early!!!

It reads: Benign Squamous and gastric type mucosa displaying

mile to moderate chronic inflammation and focal mild acute inflammation, focal

specialized intestinal metaplasia is noted, no dysplasia nor malignancy is

identified.

So in a nut shell, I do have Barrett’s but it is not

serious yet!!!! WOO HOO good news for a change. I have still sent the report

and pictures to Dr. Achkar though because I want his opinion due to my medical

and family history!! So we will see where I go from here!! Thanks to everyone

for your support…its so great to have a family that truly understands!!

Dear ,

I am glad that you wrote the "in a nut shell" bit - I could not understand the medical diagnosis!

It sounds as if things are not quite as bad as you feared, and that there is hope for a solution to this. I will keep my fingers crossed for you that things improve.

You are right - we do understand.

Ann,

LOL yeah I had to look part of it up!! I can only hope that the

prevacid will help reduce the inflammation and try to reverse the Barrett’s to

some degree. I’m sure I will have to go back in for another endoscopy in the

future to check and make sure things are working!

Hi

Glad to hear that the news was not as bad as you had first thought

although it still another medical issue to deal with. I will keep my

fingers crossed that the meds give you some relief and can reverse

some of the damage and hold off that ectomy for a good while yet.

How long had it been since you had your last endoscopy?
