Guest guest
Hi , Yes, you know what the waiting is like, eh? You've waited very long yourself too. Has it already been 9 weeks since your surgery? Wow, time moves so fast! I am so glad you write about your experiences, as it gives me a realistic view on things. I totally understand the reason why you are getting your dilatations already. I wish you lots of luck with that one. How do you feel about getting dilatated now? Are you going to have it done in Pittsburgh? Had to smile about your thought after waking up after surgery... You know that was exactly my thought last year after the myotomy and I am sure it'll be my thought again after waking up after the -ectomy. Oh, , I just am so happy and relieved now. I know I shouldn't set too high hopes on March 31st, but I do hope so much on that one... Furthermore I know even if it isn't the 31st at least it then will be very soon after that date. Take it easy, eh? Love, Isabella Isabella Wow - you finally have a date. I am happy for you as I know all too well what it's like to have to wait around. Keep us posted and rest up!! Get healthy and count down the days to your new life!I am now about 9 weeks post op from my -ectomy and I'm not great but I'm doing better every day. I am scheduled for a dilation on Monday - I'm not havig a terrible time swallowing but it's getting a bit tight and UPMC recommends having dilations done sooner rather than later so that I'll heal in the right 'shape'. Right now I'm eating about as much as my 5 year old in one sitting and snacking alot. For instance, the other day we did burgers on the grill and I ate about 1/2 a cheeseburger with 8-10 shoestring french fries and about 1/4 cup of cole slaw - not bad for so soon. I'm going on a cruise in July so I'm hoping to be at almost full capacity by then so I can enjoy the round the clock food that's available! The only things I've found I can't eat yet are peanut butter and oatmeal - they're just too sticky but you never know, I may be able to eat those after my next dilation. You'll just feel so much better to get it over and out of the way. I know I did. I remember waking up the first night in ICU and thinking -'all right, that's over, now I can get on with my life' and I actually felt pretty good.Happy for you and waiting to hear your date has been confirmed.Your -ectomy sister- in NC Be a better friend, newshound, and know-it-all with Mobile.
