Guest guest
Hey all! It's been a while since I've posted, but I still check out the site from time to time while on breaks at work. I had my myotomy 2 years ago and all has been pretty good...until now...I've been having a few problems eating again. About a month ago, after dinner of mac n cheese, lazy me, anyhoo, I had this horrible feeling in my chest, I forgot how much I hated that feeling of food just stuck there, not going anywhere. I tried to get it out, but no such luck. So, I downed 2 glasses of room temp water and felt the food go down. I just wrote it off to maybe eating too fast, which I knew wasn't true. Then it happened again, and again. I haven't been eating much, and it I feel sick almost everytime I eat. What a horrible time to feel all crumy. I sucked it up and called my GI doc, scared of what tests he was going to order. The nurse had him call me and after explaining how I have been feeling, he decided it was time for another endoscope. We are all scheduled for Jan 7th, Happy New Year!! I have been super busy the past month, and I am hoping that it's just stress and no rest causing this, but I doubt it. I had my 2 year follow up with my surgeon on Wednesday. He asked me a series of questions and took many notes as I talked. When I told him my GI doc scheduled an endoscope, he took his script pad out, wrote PAGER and his number and handed it to me. He said, " I am sure has my pager, but please have Dr. Thyssen page me as soon as he is done with the procedure. I want to talk to him before you leave. " Then he handed me his pager number. Kinda freaked me out a bit, why does he need to talk to him while I am still there??? He is a great surgeon, and I have total respect for him. so maybe he is just being very cautious, wants to make sure I am ok?? I have noticed I am losing weight and not trying to, about 8 pounds so far. Anyhoo, thats my story for the moment. I'll keep you all posted as to what the results are next monday. a in St. Louis
