You really aren't going to believe this. Wow, those Dutch waiting lists, aaaaaaaaaargh.

I just called the hospital to inform whether they knew more about when my surgery would be. This as I needed to plan some other things too (life goes on and there are many other things to plan than just surgery).

The lady on the phone told me waiting lists for Prof. Gooszen had grown, many emergency cases etc. Soooooo... I was put on a waiting list that would take about 7 months and now that list has grown to 9 or 10 months! Chances are that I won't be having my surgery done sooner than June or July. We just scheduled our summer holidays for July! Chances might as well be that I still am going to have it done somewhere March, but it might just as well be July!

I'm not the person that gets quiet soon, but I did now. I didn't know what to say. Thank God I have an appointment (phone appointment) with Prof. Gooszen January 10th, so I can discuss this matter with him. I was put on the list September 6th, how can they have me waiting for 9 to 10 months?!

Well, at least it's off my chest now and I vented it here.

I can understand your frustration after hearing that news just hold on for a bit longer until you go to your appointment. You may find that you get told something completely different when you see the Prof.

If its the same as it is over here in the UK the surgeons can alter there surgeries and also there are people that cancel at the last minute too. I don't think that you will be waiting until next summer for your ectomy.

Enjoy the rest of the celebrations and see what happens at the appointment in January.
