Guest guest
Hello, I have created this account for my dad. He was diagnosed with achalasia 1.5 years ago. He is currently being treated with Botox, however, the hiccups and spasms persists as well as all of the other symptoms. I assume, from what I have read here, the only real option is surgery. We live in Michigan and I read some of you have talked about a Dr. Rice who is in Cleveland. Could anyone share their experience and/or advice regarding the surgery and this doctor. Currently the achalasia is getting so bad to the point that every dinner there is an episode (previously it was less often, seeming that only certain foods set it off...however, now it appears everything is setting it off-- in fact it seem to get worse AFTER the botox.) I appreciate anything anyone might be able to share. Thank you for your time.
