Hey to all of the recent -ectomy patients - how much ensure did you go

through? I'm thinking about starting to stock up but I don't want to

buy a whole bunch and have it sit around. It does seem like most of you

went back to food fairly quickly.

Also, any suggestions on what to get for my 2 days (!) of clear

liquids? I know about juice and tea and broth but my concern is not

getting enough protein. I tend to run towards being hypoglycemic where

if I don't eat protein at my meals I get jittery and woozie. I'll also

be traveling at that point which makes it all the more interesting.

Being that Saturday is the first of December - January doesnt' seem so

far off now!!

Thanks for the input. Having the experiences of this group is a life

saver!!

, I stayed on the pain meds for about three weeks but I was not taking them as often as I was told to. I have a high pain tolerance so I did not need to take them as often. I mostly took them right before I went to sleep so I could rest better.

Hey to everyone who's had the -ectomy done - how long afterwards did you take pain meds? I'm just over 3 weeks post op from my ectomy and 2 weeks from my other surgery and I only have probably 2-3 days left of pain meds. I tried late last week to cut back and take 1 dilaudid with one dose of tylenol and for 4-8 hours, when I was home alone and quiet I was fine but any longer than about 8 hours and I was hurting again. I'm just finding that if I take less than full dose every 4-6 hours, I don't move as well, my chest aches and I don't eat as well.I think I'm going to see my local doctor this week and maybe they can put me on something else - just so I don't stay too long on one narcotic. Any other suggestions?Appreciate anything you can help with.- in NCslept in my own bed last night with only extra pillows - it was VERY nice- I didn't realize how much I missed my husband's snoring

next to me :)

Hi -

I am glad your surgery is over with and you are know on the road to

recovery.Your achalasia free-doesnt that sound great! Im sorry to

hear you are still having pain.It would seem normal I would think

after all you have been through.I would still talk with your DR as

you said and maybe he can prescribe you something more or something

else.

Hey as far as hubbies snoring-when you do get tired of it again(and

you will) lol get him some breathrite strips.Omg... girl they

worked wonders for my hubby.I can sleep all night now without waking

up every 5 minutes and accidentally kicking the piss out of him to

make him stop. :)

Take care and let us know about your Gi appointment and how it goes.

May 05.I haven't posted much in last couple years. Lots of new

names. Not sure if anyone remembers me.I had my surgery at Cleveland

Clinic by Dr Rice.Wonderful Dr.I am doing well.Just wondering if

anyone has any info on long term problems after ectomy. Can't seem to

find much info online.I remember when I found this group several yrs

ago I was so happy I cried. It was so great to talk to people who had

the same problem.Hope I can check in more often.
