Guest guest
I must admit that I too took my ph tube out after 9 hours. I was ready to face the rath of Dr Rice the next day but he did not say anything about me removing it and that my Ph levels were normal. Whee got away with that one. I did not know about the alternative at the time and I believe the nurse called it "Bravo". It is done while you are having an endoscopy, they insert some kind of capsul and in two days it disolves and you for lack of a better word "poop" it out and take it to the lab for analysis. I guess since I was from out of town and just having a myotomy that that was not a option for me. But if I will go that route in the future if need be. For those of you out there that are facing a ph test it is annoying but I think had a been home instead of being by myself in a hotel room I would have been able to keep in in longer. in VA Be a better Heartthrob. Guest guest
I had the pH test done a while back, yes it was horrible, but I survived. I had thought about taking out the tube, but then, decided to wait till the next morning to have the tech take it out. I drank alot of hot tea which made the tube more tolerable. I have heard of the Bravo test as well. But I did some research and found that the results are not as acurate as with the 24 hr pH test with the probe. I will say this, if my doc ever wants me to do another one of these, he will have to drag me kicking and screeming, or drug me!!! a in St. Louis (almost 2 years post op!) > > I must admit that I too took my ph tube out after 9 hours.
