Guest guest
Wow, this entire line of talk is SO interesting. The nifedipine, the scar tissue problem, the GERD, and the LES getting tighter or tougher after a period of time. I am so glad all of you are talking about all of this. I now have GERD but not Barrett's (as it might have been diagnosed but turned out not to be, Thank G-d) and the prescription Prilosec is really helping me enormously. (It also helped me enormously years ago when I had very nasty ulcers.) But that scar tissue topic is very, very interesting. I do have cardio spasms but they seem to be getting less and less nasty and less and less often. I think what might have been going on was the GERD and the tension from the pain and the return of some regurgitation probably got me more scared than actually developing my Achalasian problems. I have noticed that if I don't have soda or water or some kind of liquid nearby, I'm not being very smart. And if I get too upset over stuff (and right now there's a crummy family thing going on), I can feel food and drink sticking. Thanks, you guys, for the very helpful posts.
