RE: Myotomy Surgeries Wed. 3/21/07

My boyfriend, Ed, has his myotomy scheduled for Thursday, 3/22 as well. Today has been very difficult on the 3 days of 'clear' liquid diet...he even regurgitated/aspirated chicken broth this morning, from last night.... We'll be in the hands of Dr. Dempsey at Temple University in Philadelphia. He works with Dr. Richter who used to be at the Cleveland Clinic with Dr. Rice. We feel we're in good hands but if you'd keep us in your thoughts and prayers, we'd appreciate it. We'll update when we can as I know others are awaiting this surgery and are having their own concerns.

Hey all,Just wanted to let everyone know we have two members undergoingsurgery tomorrow. , who lives just outside of Cleveland, isscheduled for a myotomy. Also, JoAnn from New Mexico, who wasoriginally scheduled for next week, but had her tests moved up andsurgery (myotomy) also scheduled for tomorrow pending the test results. Both are scheduled to have surgery performed by Dr. Rice at TheCleveland Clinic, so we can all rest assured that they are in the bestpossible hands. I have been speaking with both of them via email and I was hoping wecould all extend our thoughts and prayers to them and wish them aneasy recovery and good result from surgery. This just goes to show that Dr. Rice is not only a busy guy (isWednesday two for one myotomy day?!?!?!?) but that he is clearly apopular choice on this board. ( also shared with me that one ofher co-workers husbands just had an esophagectomy by Dr. Rice - and heis doing very well - I don't have any details, but clearly that makesme feel good as I am facing mine next week.)Anyway, just wanted everyone to keep these two in their thoughts.
