Hi Phyllis,

Like most of us it is frustrating and overwhelming to want to help

our children.

Perhaps you can attend the next support meeting in North Jersey.

Maybe someone there can also refer you to a local pediatric

developmental neurologist. Or maybe you want to contact Dr. AGin or

Dr. Laveman who are both affiliated with the Cherab Foundation and

are familiar with apraxia. See the apraxia home page " Ask the

Doctors " for more info.

You may also want to contact the Prompt Institute

http://www.promptinstitute.com or the Kaufman Center

http://www.kidspeech.com to inquire about speech therapists in your

area that may be able to give you a clearer idea of whether le

is apraxic.

This was posted a few weeks ago by the President of the North Jersey

Support Group. The person below is a speech therapist.

There was a posting by just a few days ago with sites that can

hel you with IEP ideas.

Good luck to you and your precious granddaughter.

> Hi All, I am Grammy to le & very new at this. So far baby

has had one eval & although not 100% sure it is Apraxia , it seems as

though we are headed in that direction. However, we are going thru

the necessary steps so that we have the complete picture. I need to

know how to get all of the benefits she deserves, 1-1, preschool,

speech aids etc. Of course I'm not different than any other parent

who wants the best for their child, but perhaps someone can help me

give her a voice!!! Are there any SLP's that can offer any kind of

assistance or direction with this?? Why isn't there more help for our

babies, they want to be like any other child, they are frustrated &

scared & they can't help it. I live in Northern N.J. baby live

nearby Thank You, Phyllis ANIE38@H...
