Guest guest
Pippa, I am not precious at all about not being mentioned, please do not worry. So many people here are helpful it is impossible to recall everyone in a single E-mail. As for the dilatation. I didn't think I would need one and I actually apologised to the surgeon for potentially wasting his time. He popped the endoscope down and said "new oesophagus looks great, so do all the joins". Then he sort of makes an "Ahhhh" sound and says. "I've found the problem, we need to dilate the pylorus". He then proceded to do it. The pylorus is the exit to the stomach, apparently it had narrowed through the surgery and it was causing a backlog up through the small stomach and the oesophagus. It has been a 100% better since. I was flabbergasted that I needed the dilatation and was so excited at the result. I was begining to think "is this it" in terms of improvement, but now it is so much better. As for the dilatation. These are a walk in the park post oesophagectomy (well it was yesterday, famous last words). No pain as all the nerves have been cut and so simple and quick. So, if I need another I don't think I will even bother to worry....he says now! Thanks for asking. STEVE Steve how did it go today? Guest guest
Steve, Really glad to hear all went well on Thursday. And in an odd sort of way, I reckon it was a good thing you needed to go in and have the dilation since this way you know for sure all is looking good on the inside. Keep well and Merry Christmas, (London, UK) > > Pippa, > > I am not precious at all about not being mentioned, please do not worry. Guest guest
Dear Steve, In the last few weeks I have read your posts with amazement and admiration. Your attitude has been wonderful and also the fact you have been helping others at the same time just floors me !!! When I heard that things have improved greatly for you by the discovery of the problem with your pyloric sphincter I felt deeply that at last you were getting what you truly deserved. I take it you won't be wanting any presents now? LOL Lots of love to you. I wish you a very Happy Christmas.
