Guest guest
Yes, sleeping with the head elevated is recommended for acid reflux. You can also use a wedge pillow or tilt the entire bed by raising the head of the bed on blocks or bed elevators. Here's a picture (scroll down to the bottom of the page): http://www.endowsec.com/pated/ecdgs04.htm I'm thinking about getting an adjustable bed for my son (15), who had the surgery in July. He is doing quite well, but occasionally has to take Tums for reflux. The head of his bed is elevated, and that has helped him with nighttime coughing, even before surgery. But the bedcovers tend to get messed up or fall off at night because of gravity. I just now registered for automatic emails from Ebay in case someone puts an adjustable bed up for sale within a certain distance from our home zip code, so I could go and pick it up. I also saw adjustable beds at furnitureny.com for $800, which sounds reasonable. Has anyone tried one of their beds? Any other advice about adjustable beds? in Lancaster, PA Re: Update 2: No conclusions but confusion!!! > > I have had the surgery over a year ago.
