Waiting for My Heller Myotomy

Hello All,

I posted just a couple times, a while back, I had the Manometry done

a few weeks ago and found out 'immediately' that I would need the

Heller Myotomy surgery. Needless to say, I went to a surgeon last

Wednesday, who admitted that my case is severe & complex and that he

cannot perform the surgery. He said he will do whatever he can to

get an approval for a more 'experienced' surgeon that deals with more

complex cases.

I have spasms/strictures in 3 different areas all at the same

time,when he said, normally, it will be just upper or lower area, not

like mine where all the areas contract at the same time, which is

what is causing the pain.

He mentioned that the Heller Myotomy may not work in my case. I am

praying with all my heart & soul that it does. I have been so

miserable. I have even been terminated from my job because they

don't care about the illness, they just think I should be able to do

my job! People don't understand, unless they are going through it.

All my friends & family want me to sue the company, but at this

point, my main focus is just on getting well!

I really liked my surgeon and the fact that he realized that he

would not able to do it properly. I thought that was a blessing.

Anyway, I really hope that I get approval soon from my HMO to go to

another surgeon, it takes forever to get approvals, but with the

holidays, I expect it will take longer than normal.
