Hi Everyone, Notan, I too hope you get some answers. I don't think I should have logged onto our group tonight. Reading the messages about how some of the members who have already gone through surgery and are now having more complications with other health issues in life is too much for me to read tonight. I truly wish the best for all of you. It is just so unfair that one person has to go through so much. One of the reason's I'm a little down is our local newspaper ran an article on Tia today. I should be happy, it is a very nice article. But, I think everything is too fresh and it opened up some wounds that were not yet fully closed. Many people contacted me or my parents to express care and

happiness that Tia is doing well. Knowing that achalasia is a life time disease for Tia is very unsettling. Not knowing when the next issue with it is going to happen frightens me. Tia is able to swallow almost all food with no problem. Her father and I have been observing that she still is eating very small amounts and not enough healthy food. Many friends have been commenting on how pale and tired she looks. I got a new mulit vitamin with iron to help with this. She is no longer taking her prevacid. However, on and off for the last week she has been complaining of a stomach ache and occasional sore throat. She say's it's not acid reflux. She gets mad if I mention acid reflux, because as she told me, "I'm never taking Prevacid again".

We went out to dinner tonight and she was sitting with her knees drawn up crying that her middle to upper stomach hurt. This was before we ate. She felt a little better after she let out some gas. Yes, my little princess thought this was hillarious! So any advice on the stomach aches? Would going back on prevacid be the cure? I'm still trying to learn about all of this. I'm not sure if acid reflux and gas or the same thing, related or totally different. I'm not too concerned with the paleness and her being tired. I'm assuming this is totally normal considering how much she went through for months before surgery.

Right?? Should I be calling the doctor to get her examed? I will appreciate any advice. I'm sure Tia will listen to you all before she takes my advice! Her surgery was almost 2 months ago, she had the laproscopic heller myotomy with dor fundoplication. She is 9 years old. Once again, thanks for being here for me and letting me vent. I look forward to hearing from you. Happy New Year! Sequim, WA (Very NW on the Olympic Peninsula) __________________________________________________
