Guest guest
Hi , Its good to hear from you. I'm sorry that its been a difficult road back for you. Hopefully the worst is behind you, and you'll continue to recover with little or no setbacks. You are referring to Steve (Lennox Steve) in the UK. His esophagectomy is scheduled for November, I believe in the middle of the month. Thanks again for posting; I'm looking forward to hearing more about your successful recovery. It's been a rough road of recovery and I apologize for not posting to this board more often. I have just not been very up to it. I hope I answered everyone's private emails to their satisfaction. My docs put me on Zoloft, an anti-depressant, because I am so down in the dumps and still have no appetite. I've lost about 20 lbs total and am still vomitting every few days from either nauseau or my now very sensitive gag reflex.I'm also still on pain meds about 3x's a day. I wish I could cut back so I could drive myself but have tried and failed.Eating (on the upside) has been going well when I am hungry. I have had no swallowing issues or anything getting stuck. For the most part, I can eat anything now except scratchy things like crackers and chips. I just chew everything well and rinse it down. Much like prior to surgery.Has anyone heard from the fellow in the UK who was undergoing and esophagectomy in either September or October? I am wondering how he is as I have not been able to keep up on reading the posts. Should anyone have any questions, please email me privately. Guest guest
It is good news to hear that you are eating well. I also had the gastric pull-up. The pain will subside and you will be able to taper off the pain meds.
