You know, the day that we both had our appointments scheduled, I did inquire about you, but was unable to get any kind of an answer. I did feel badly though, if in any way my appointment time somehow caused them to re-schedule you instead of giving you my time. I was scheduled for 4:30, but changed to 3:30 when a surgery had to be done at 4:30, and he had been in the O.R. all morning until noon time. : You must see this through. Dr. Altorki and Dr. Richter told me anesophagectomy was my only alternative, while Dr. Dempsey said an esophagoplasty would be his first choice, but only if my life became so unpleasant that surgery had to be done. Which doctor is right? Look me up in a couple of years and I'll tell you. In the meantime, I feel that I am taking a safer, more conservative approach. For the members of this group who have decided to have (or recently had) an esophagectomy, I have read all their posts over again, and have decided that symptom wise, and life style wise, I am presently not as bad off as they are. I respect their hard to come by decision to take this significant step in their lives to have this major surgery in order to drastically improve their lives. : Please try to keep the appointment with him for September 28th.
