Guest guest
Im wondering if anyone here has ever been diagnosed with Gastric emptying problems such as too slow and if this condition is precurser or can cause A? Im also wondering what other GI problems you've all been diagnosed with besides A? Robyn Like my Tags? Join my group! RobynsTagDesigns Like my Stats? Join my Group! Guest guest
Hello Robyn I was diagnosed with slow gastric emptying just last spring after many years of A, first time they tested for it so it may have been a problem all along. I had a myotomy and pyloroplasty in Dec/05 to address both problems and (fingers crossed) it has been a great success. No issues eating anything at all now. As for other gastric problems, in my case, I had vertical gastric banding done about 20 years ago and depending on which doctor I spoke with they felt the A was absolutely a result of that which led to me having major surgery 3 years ago to reverse the banding. It made very little difference to the A and I ended up having surgery again for the A. The surgeon who did my myotomy did not thing one had much to do with the other and I tend to think she was right. Once the myotomy was done, my swallowing was dramatically different. And I had my gall bladder out at least 15 years ago.
