Guest guest
Hello, I posted on here several months ago that I was going to talk to my doctor about further treatment for my achalasia. I had two dilations done about 10 years ago that were mildly successful in that I can eat with much difficulty. However the symptoms seem to be getting worse lately. So, I was referred to a specialist and he recommended a myotomy with the fundo... (stomach wrapping thingy). To make a long story short, my HMO has denied the surgery as being medically uneccessary. They then denied the appeal that my doctor made. I have one more shot at appealing with an outside agency, and was wondering if anyone here has had any experience with this type of appeal and could offer me some suggestions, citations, etc. Thank you in advance and God Bless everyone here.
