A few of us have. He is doing my operation Aug. 4. He seems to be

one of the better known/respected achalasia surgeons. Cleveland

Clinic also has good surgeons (and I am sure others can tell you other

good doctors).

Dr, Patti recently performed a transthorasic

esophagectomy on me a couple of weeks ago. He is the

" Mr. Achalasia " of UCSF being knowledgable in

achalasia and other known esophageal disorders.

He is very professional and most definitely knows his

stuff in regards to surgery.

i haven't posted on the boards for a while, but dr. patti did my

surgery on may 1st, and so far, so good. (knock on wood!) i am happy

with my results, and i think he does know what he's talking about and

what he's doing.

i will add that the ucsf medical center is not the most comfortable or

fancy hospital, but in the end i thought the surgeon was more important

than the hospital.
