Guest guest
HI, all. Just a note to let you know that if you are considering having surgery open, ..IT"S OK! There are some here who have had it open... But why so few and what is the difference? the Laproscopic is the method of choice as it has the least impact on the body..The body cavity is never opened. And it is the least expensive. But let me reassure you there is nothing wrong with having a myotomy and fundo "open". As a matter of fact, surgeons would love to have them all open, they can see whats happening, the can reach everything, Only the impact is harder on the body. The recovery time is the same as with any surgery, it is 6 weeks. Recovery is slower, eating is a slower process, but the results could in some cases be better. As and Cameron can attest. the scars are to be rivaled, too. We think martins looks like the SR 71 stealth jet, and Camerons looks like ... well, we drew a zipper one time on it... Please dont hesitate to ask or share your open story... We are still here to support you. Open myotomy and fundo .. is sometimes a neccessary and not-so planned event. For all the newbies.. Sometimes, if you have lost a lot of weight in a very short time your insides have a bit of free floating of your organs. With Cameron, he had to have the open when a artery was nicked, right from the get go.. But s was plannned, and either way... they both were great surgeries, with very good outcomes.
