Guest guest
, I wasn't sure if you wanted the name of the surgeon at Cleveland Clinic or the GI doc. The GI doc we saw last week, that we liked better than Dr. Achkar there, was Dr. Shay. I don't have a phone number directly to his office, but you can call their main number at: 1-800-CCF-CARE or 1-800-223-2273 and ask for his office. The famous Dr. Rice was the surgeon we saw there. It was funny, when we first met him, we sat in his office, with our knees literally shaking, knowing he was this great surgeon and we were lucky to be consulting with him. I told my husband later that I felt like we were talking to the Wizard of Oz, asking for a new esophagus or something. I've never e mailed Dr. Rice, but his e mail address is: ricet@.... His phone number is: (216) 444-1921 or call the toll free number above and ask for ext. 41921. His fax number (in case you want to fax previous records to him for his review) is : (216) 445-6876. Our experience with Cleveland Clinic (or CCF) has been very positive. They seem to accomodate out-of-towners, trying to get necessary tests in while you're there and reading the results quickly, too. I love the way they have a toll-free phone number and most of the time a real human answers it instead of a machine with menu options. Someone mentioned on a previous post that you can even apply for financial help through them. Good luck, , and keep is informed how things are going! in Michigan
