Guest guest
Wally, welcome (back!)...it is great to have another "notan-esque" person here who can give us new insights, but still make them concrete enough for the average non-rocket scientist. Quincia - I think it is great to hear a completely different cultural perspective, please continue to share. Who knows, maybe one day some odd thing will be the total answer for all of us! To the one who had the monitor fall on his/her shoulder...forgive me for not getting your name, but you very well might have secondary achalasia (caused by something like trauma). I have heard it referred to and hopefully someone can give you some more insights. To Liz - rest, rest! Thank you for filling us in & please continue to let us know your progress as you are able. My thoughts & prayers are with you. To those who are checking out FlyLady - great site! To Dave (I think...) - my surgeon told me that most people have a decline in function....do you think it is as bad as it was before surgery? It shouldn't get that bad that soon. But also keep in mind that you will not re-gain peristalsis (Sorry Quincia, you probably won't regain it, either), so you will always need fluid to push things down. If it is markedly worse and you haven't had stressors in your life, I'd go ahead & give the surgeon a call & have them do a timed barium swallow (yum, yum....) to check you out. Also, I found after surgery that I actually can eat much better with a bit of soda (pop) with my food....it opens the LES right up. Some can't tolerate that at all, but it is worth a try. To Deborah at the wet beach, I'm glad for you & you won't regret it. I don't know if I got everyone, but I'm going to bed now! Glad you are all back from vacation!
