Guest guest
... for UCSF Dr Patti assistant is Rodriquez email <rodriguezf@...>, his direct line is 415 353-2634 He always checks his email and his voice mail. Tell him the distance you are coming and he will tell you of the 2 hotels the hospital works with. One is the Ocean View, but that is all I can remember. Ask him about parking and best mode of transportation. . I can recommend that you get the SF area map ahead of time and just study it a bit before coming. Are you going to rent a car? Parking in San Francisco is a premium and I will be happy to fill you in. Carolyn mom of Cameron.. Well, I called and made an appointment for my husband to see Dr.Patti today. We'll be seeing him on Valentine's Day (I hope that's agood omen). Here's our busy upcoming agenda: Jan. 30 - ClevelandClinic for gastric emptying, barium swallow, and chest and abdomen CT(as my sister the x-ray tech put it, "breakfast, lunch, and dinner").Jan. 31st - pulmonary function and consult with Dr. Rice. Feb. 14 -consult with Dr. Patti.Sandi, I was a little disappointed because I didn't get to talk to to schedule the appointment. Dr. Patti even suggested in his email that I talk to him. I asked for him in the beginning but thewoman I was talking to said she could handle things. She did O.K.,but when I asked about any help with directions, accomodations or helpwith travel arrangements, she said they don't offer anything likethat. We haven't taken the time to check into airfares and hotel roomrates nearby yet, but I was thinking of checking UCSF's website forany suggestion of help for that kind of thing. I also had a reallyhard time getting through on their phone system. Maybe it's becauseI'm used to calling Cleveland (with their toll-free number, I mightadd) and just asking for the extension for the doctor's office orwhatever department I'm looking for. At UCSF, I got lost in theirphone menu and disconnected more than once. Also, Cleveland Clinic isvery accomodating when it came to arranging any tests to be done whilewe're in town (they got him next day appointments for tests while wewere there in August). From what this woman said, at UCSF, it wouldtake a while to get the tests scheduled. Hopefully, he doesn't needany further tests. It's hard to just fly back any time for that. I'mhoping the minor hassles (and the major hassle of travelingcross-country) will all be worth it if he gives some hope offeeling better!Take care, all! in Michigan
