Guest guest
Hello, Fellow Esophageal Warriors, And thank You, Anita, for the message about my departed, darling little ish Terrier. I postponed my VAT because I couldn't leave Molly that sick, that ill, on her bed, needing medications, needing love and attention. I kept hearing, in my head, the song from Camelot, "If ever would leave you, it wouldn't be in winter...knowing how in winter ...etc.", "Oh, no! I can't leave you. Summer, Winter or Fall, no, never could I leave you, at all." I have lost most of my family, many friends, colleagues...and even my wonderful PhD. chairman, who died suddenly and I did not complete my PhD. That dog. I could not leave that little dog, that bundle of joy and strength. When my son had a severe case of croup, I picked up one of my grandmother's blankets, and slept on the floor under Nick's bed. Kaiser had no place for parents to stay and really did not want me there anyway. When I went to the bathroom, I came back to my son's room, and they had taken away, thrown away, my grandmother's blanket. I'm glad I'm not presently with Kaiser. I'll be going into Cedars for my VAT in late January. That gives me plenty of time to complete a workshop at UCR, and prep for out of town business in February. Dr. Fuller told me that his patients usually have pain and fatigue for about two weeks post op. Guess I'll find out. I appreciate all the posts here about various stages of Achalasia and of the procedures that you go through, telling us about how they lined up, how you found your doctors, what everything was like before, during and after, in other words. It's very, VERY helpful. Hope everyone is feeling all right, right now.... Best Wishes, Deborah, at the beach P.S. Hi, Sandy of So.Cal. Thanks again for the phone call and all the support. I've finally got a date for my surgery.
