A Good Update

Hello All,

On March 16, I will be 1 year post Lap Hellers. Overall I am doing

very well ... NO COMPARISON to pre-Hellers!

I am due for my one year check up with Dr. Luketich. I called

today to ask what I have to do for the check up. His scheduler was

making my appointment for early April. She told me I would have to

have a Barium Swallow the morning of the exam.

Then she asked me how I have been doing. I told her about the

Spasms, and that I do not take the anti acids because they do not

work. I am positive it is not reflux ... I NEVER have a bitter or

sour taste when it is happening.

She asked me about food sticking. I told her that yes, I am having

some sticking, but I am NOT alarmed. She asked me if I am having

more than 3 months ago. I said yes, but again, not every time I eat,

and a chaser of water ..USUALLY.. helps. She asked a few more

questions, then pushed my appointment up to February 7! She said

that Dr. Luketich prefers to take care of this before it increases in

problems. She said it may not be a problem at all, but he will look

at the XRAY and decide if a dialation would be in order before I

would have additional problems.

I am sorta impressed! I am reading that so many people have a

problem seeing their surgeons, and he is very ready to have me come

in early! She also told me that if he decides to do the dialation,

he will actually do it on his Achalasia patients!!!

Personally, I thought this was good news to share.

Liz ... sounds like you had a heck of a time. Glad you got it all

over before the year ended so you can start 2006 mended. Hope you

are feeling better real soon.

I can't remember who is going in for surgery tomorrow, but when you

are packing your stuff, the lip balm is really FABULOUS ... and a

very loose bra too. You are going to get back with us by early next

week telling us that you are doing great!
