Guest guest
I will be praying for you to have a successful surgery and a fast recovery. Do not worry to much over the surgery. You will be so glad that you did it and that helps the healing process. in Suffolk

Guest guest
Last minute advice: take lip gloss -- shea butter -- it really helps during the " thristies, " take comfortable clothing for the ride home, arrange your ride home for just after you have taken your pain meds, go slower than the hospital nutritionist in eating a soft diet, eat popsicles when you get a spasm and sit quietly, if you have time before you go, get a pillow wedge for when you arrive back home. Buy pudding, mac and cheese and other soft stuff before you leave. Hugs Peggy, from Central California who has a stuffy nose in her hotel room 550 miles from home this week in Redding and missing her hubby and bed. > > > > > > Hey guys, > > > > Just wanted to give you all a heads up about my upcoming surgery. > > There's no turning back now. Guest guest
I was in one night, but I live 250 miles away from the hospital so I spent the second night in a hotel 2 miles from the hospital. I was much more comfortable in the hotel room because I controlled my own pain meds and it was quiet. Be sure to go home with 5 days supply of pain meds. Guest guest
Thanks for the quick responses! Honestly, the anticipation is killing me. I can already imagine what tommorow night is going to be like,NO SLEEP!! I can't wait to be on the " other side " . So thats what I'm going to focus on..just getting better. There's so many last minute things I need to take care of. I keep forgetting that I will be unable to do most things in another day. Seems so weird because I feel so perfectly healthy. My body doesn't realize the trauma its about to go through I guess. I'm going to head to the mall tommorow and get some loose fitting clothes ( I'm a 19 year old..my wardrobe consists of nothing but " body hugging " clothes as my mom puts it) hah. Good call on the LIP BALM, chapped lips are NOT cute. LeeAnn in T.O
Guest guest
LeeAnn-I only spent 2 nights in the hospital, and by the the morning I was ready to be home. My prayers will be with you. Please check in as soon as you are able. You might even be able to check out a laptop at the hospital. I know they are provided upon request at Bronson. I will be watching for an update from you. Guest guest
I stayed only one night in the hospital and I came from Sault Ste. Marie, ON to Hamilton (approx 800 Km). I left with rx for zantac and codiene. I used the the zantac as perscribed but didn't really need the codiene for pain. This surgery was really easy for me - 3rd day post op I was back in Sault Ste. Marie and went grocery shopping on my own. I don't think there is any real diet to follow post op but the nurse recommended I follow the fundoplication diet they use even though I did not have a wrap procedure done. So I stayed on puree for about a week and then went on soft foods for 2 weeks and finally a full diet after about 5 weeks. I would say I am 95 % normal now - I get occasional sticks but have not coughed at night or regurged since. Guest guest
- All the best Leeann. You will be a new person after. Remind yourself of that. I was in for 3 nights. My surgeon wanted to make sure all was OK as I had to stay in a hotel after. 2 night would have been OK though. Can't wait to hear how you went. We are thinking of you. -- In achalasia , " LeeAnn " <babygal35@h...> wrote: > > > Hey guys, > > Just wanted to give you all a heads up about my upcoming surgery. > There's no turning back now. Guest guest
While you are shopping Leeann, consider that you may want clothes that you don't need a bra with too. If you get an insicion up high it could be under a bra which will iritate it. I still have days when I go without and I had my myotomy in Oct. Please don't eat anything like meat, rice, apples, etc. Stick to Creamed soups and yogourt, pudding etc. All the best, . Surgery 1 day away...
