Kate,

Thanks for the book recommendation. I just bought it thru Amazon for $1.99!

I'll try anything to avoid another tubal ligation!

Liz Dunn\Ridgewood NJ 6, Oro motor Dyspraxia (4th set of tubes and one of

the current set is on its way out of the ear canal!)

We used allergy shots that were preservative free like in the book " is this

your child " , by Doris Rapp.

First, I would try Herbs for Kids echinachea, 3 drops 3x a day. My children

take it straight out of the dropper and like it. No more than ten days at a

time.

I would try homeopathic medicine. It works great on ear infections. Find a

good naturopathic physician or the book " smart medicine for a healthier

child " by Janet Zand has an entire section on ear infections with many

different homeopathic and herbal recommendations. The front of the book says

" A parents guide to safe and effective relief of common childhood disorders

using nutritional supplements, herbs, homeopathy, acupressure, diet and

conventional medicine "

Remove chemicals from your home and switch to all natural products. Stop

using pesticides and harsh chemical cleaners if you are. It could be from

some environmental assault on the immune system...so check that.

Oh-and not to forget ear candling. I learned to do it myself, but if you

can find an experienced ear candler and your child will stay calm and still

for it, it will dry up fluid in the ear very quickly. Ear candling is hard

to explain, but basically you take a cone shaped long tube that is tapered

so that the end fits in the ear. The top is lit, like a candle, and as it

burns down, the fire creates a suction to draw things in the ear upward, the

heat creates just enough heat to loosen earwax so it can be drawn out, and

the heat will also dry up the ear fluid. This would probably be the

quickest option for you. Healthfood stores sometimes sell ear candles and

do it yourself books, but it is always nice to have someone who knows how

show you for your first time.
