Guest guest
I am three weeks post-op -- feeling my energy coming back and doing really well. I was able to walk for an hour this weekend -- about 3 miles. Spasms have dropped off to almost nothing -- whoever mentioned the three- week mark for spasms subsiding was certainly on target. Popsicles were the key for abating the spasms once they started. This group helped me a lot to prepare for this effect of surgery. I am swallowing well -- it is a new normal with lack of peristalsis -- but everything is going down. I still feel a bit of soreness when I swallow more solid things, so I am chewing thoroughly and taking adventuresome foods slowly. I assume things will improve more with reduction in swelling. Most adventurous was a piece of bacon, an artichoke and a small tea sandwich. No reflux or heart burn -- one of the big worries I had in not getting a wrap. Still feeling quite sore in my thoracic area -- to be expected, but I am really pleased to be this far along. Best to all approaching decisions about treatment and surgery Peg
