I know we all grieve with this sad news of Joan. She would

want us now to pray for her family.

Joan will be sadly missed by everyone in this group.

Hugs to all,

Maggie

I am truly saddened over Joan's passing. I know how much she wanted to impart her knowledge to people in the group and any other people that were looking for answers over this disease. She was a great comfort to many that were searching for answers. My heart goes out to everyone she has touched as well as her entire family. May Gods loving arms embrace her as she enters his place and may Gods loving tears fall upon the family and give them comfort in their time of grief.

I am so very sad at this news. One could not have wished for a better friend.

I will remember her kindness always.

I don't know what to say.... Joan is a part of this achalasia family, and she will be missed by those whose lives she has touched.

The entire Pearse family is in my prayers right now.

The passing of Joan Pearse

With a sad heart we bring you the news of the passing of Joan Pearse on Sunday the 26th of June 2005 following an oesophagectomy several weeks ago and subsequent post operative treatment. However during recovery in the ICU her lungs became infected necessitating that she remain on the ventilator and under heavy sedation.

When it seemed that they had this under control another infection attacked the alimentary tract which they were unable to control and she passed away.

A memorial service will be held in the Parktown North Methodist Church at 2 pm on Friday the 1st of July.

I was shocked when I read the news.

My thoughts go to all those who were close to Joan, and I bet that's quite a

lot of people.
