Guest guest
Hi all - Just a quick update on my dr. visit today for my spasms. We reviewed the bloodwork (that was taken during a spasm) and the ultrasound (that was taken the day after) and although both were found to be clear of any obvious problems, Dr. Fraiberg said he's still not convinced that it's not my gallbladder. He said that even though the numbers on the bloodwork are reading in the " normal " range, it doesn't mean that it's not high or low for me and my " normal " range. He has scheduled two more bloodwork appts and also for a HIDA scan (a radioactive kind of scan of the function of the gallbladder). He really wants to exhaust this avenue as a cause of my bad NCCP's and spasms - or whatever the heck they are. If the HIDA scan comes back with a clear problem, he's going to refer me to a surgeon. If it comes back clean, he wants to do some type of endoscopic ultrasound at another hospital. They say this gets closer to the gallbladder than any scan or traditional ultrasound. I've got my HIDA scan scheduled for next Friday and I'll let you all know what I've found out. I inquired, Debbie, about getting a low-dose antidepressant. He said he doesn't really like to put his patients on that, and hasn't before, but that if we find out through these tests that it's not my gallbladder, then he'd consider it. I'm hoping they'll find something out with all these tests, but if not, at least there's still more options. Talk to you all soon
