Guest guest
I am so sorry that Cameron's surgery did not go well, but thank God he is okay. He is young and strong so hopefully he will heal and recover quickly. Give him a big hug from me and save one for yourself. Guest guest
I'm so sorry to hear there were complications but I'm very happy for you that he came through ok. Kids are SO resilient, so much more than adults. He'll be up and about before your ready to let him be up and about. Hope you are feeling better and a little more relaxed now too. -Jess > > Hi all. I ma writing from the hospital. Cameron went in for surgery on Friday. The surgery didnt go so well to start with. They started the lap and nicked an artery with the first cut. They felt it was because of the loss of weight that the vessel was in the area it was... (60 lbs) So they had to emergency open him up. It was very scary. the stablized him and let him rest for a little bit, and then the proceeded with the myotomy and fundo. He had to go into ICU. It was very scary. > > Dr. Patti and Dr. Farmer were wonderful. They took the time to explain everything to us, and Dr. Farmer and Dr. Patti have been by numerous times to see him. He is doing better, but has not been up yet. We moved to the peds. unit last night and so he is just happily sleeping. In ICU they have their own nurse who is at their beck and call! it was great..in retrospect. > > Thats it for now! > > will write again. > > Carolyn mom of Cameron.. myotomized and fundo'd in UCSF, CA.. > > > > > Wooleeacre Productions > Custom Screenprinting > on a small scale! > > > > > > > > --------------------------------- > > Stay connected, organized, and protected. Guest guest
Wow Carolyn -- Cameron has been through so much -- so scarey for his parents and the rehab will take quite a bit longer. Glad he was stabilized okay. Healing energy sending his way. Peggy
Guest guest
Carolyn ! Thank you for the update! It must have been scary for you, but you had experienced and caring surgeons and that is what was important. (If jello counts as "food"!!!)Debbi in Michigan Hey all, we get to go home tomorrow. Cameron started on a small sip of liquid, then more sips, then on to Jello today. They are impressed with his pain level, healing and all, and are sending us home. We are so excited. It will be a week tomorrow, and the beds are uncomfy, so cameron says. Pain is down, incision is getting better. Guess what.. NO auto immune problems.. wa hoo...
