Guest guest
Believe me that is the first thing I noticed when I frst read about achalasia. Especially since I have already had my immune system attacking my throid, and my one of my heart valves. At least I think it attacked my heart valve. They have diagnosed the autoimmune thydroiditis, and all the sudden I have developed a heart murmur, and they diagnosed that one of my valves is leaking now and I have also developed extra heart beats, and they think possibly my immune was attacking my heart. Now with reading that achalasia is an inflammatory response, which I believe it's your immune system that creates an inflammotory reponse. Plus I read that A can be caused by autoimmune or hidden infections. I have also had lots of digestive problems, pancreatic deficiancy, and abnormal liver functions which could also be autoimmune. I difinitely think that at least for me the achalasia has to have something to do with autoimmune. Hopefully though I can get them to look at the achalasia problem and what they can do to help me with that, while they focus on the big picture of trying to figure out why all of these things are going wrong. For some reason even as a child when something would go wrong I was never just a typical case. I guess I just like being difficult or something LOL Well take care Cindi and thanks for your input. Have a good Sunday! > Achalasia is possibly caused by an auto-immune problem, so there could be link. Cindi
