Guest guest
Iris, glad to hear your surgery went well and that you are dealing with the pain well. I hope the other thing the doctor found is no big thing and that is taken care of soon. THank you for keeping us posted. in Suffolk
Guest guest
Yeah Yeah Yeah for you Iris... You got Hawaii and Lap. Great for you. Parasites, oh no, another new thing... Totally unrelated. I have a childhood friend who is probably a hypocondriac. She had every medical test to find things wrong and never found anything. She turned to holistic medicine to find things wrong... She found some kind of person in a medium sized town in Montana that made a brew that eliminated all parasites. Said her problem was she had parasites all her life. But by buying her brew and coming for monthly visits she could clean her of parasites. Well the brew made EVERYTHING come out. My hypocondriac friend fished the parasites out of the porcelain throne and saved them. She wanted to show me. I politely declined. She told me some of the different shapes etc. There were different brews for different organs like the liver, pancreas and heart. I was absolutely enthralled by her story and told her she was crazy, but tell me more. I haven't ever looked at her specimens. But, dear Iris, should your doctor need help I can have my friend send me the Brew doctor's contact information. LOL Iris, is that why you don't want to check in her often, my gross stories? When you said parasites, I couldn't help but tell that story. So glad you feel better and please keep in touch and tell us what you are eating. Guest guest
I AM GLAD IRIS IS DOING WELL... but I am fascinated because we work with livestock, and sometimes things travel.... and I am extremely interested.. Sandy get me the name of the tea... I have heard of it and I could probably find it... but if you can get.it...so much the easier... we use diatomacous earth on the pigs sometimes, as a parasite control... but there are so many... Guest guest
hmmm... for some reason, I'm not sure this brew is what I'm going to go for... maybe it's only my, or maybe it's the fact I'm a member of a family with two doctors, but these stories always sound to me too weird (no offence). So in that case I believe I'll stick to the modern medicine (although I might try homeopathy). Regarding what I'm eating, well the first thing I asked for was a chicken broth. I usually like the home made ones, and I'm not much into the ones made out of boxes or powder. Still, I can't tell you how I enjoyed having that cup of soup, and actually feeling it going all the way to my stomach - and staying there!!! I felt like a kid managing to do something for the first time!!! Since then I already had popcycles, tea, hot chocolate, a special Arab dessert (like a very heavy pudding), and everything remained in my stomach (-: According to my surgeon, this is the kind of food I'll have for the next two weeks, and then I'll start with the real solid food. Was it the same with all the rest of you who already had their myotomy? Just wondering. Guest guest
I imagine how soon you can start eating solid foods depends on how severe your condition was before you had surgery. It's been a while since my surgery, but I don't recall have many restrictions on what I could eat after I left the hospital (Heller Day + 4). I'm not a big fan of soup and I ended up throwing out most of the cans of soup that I had stockpiled. Judging from what other people on this board have said, my condition was apparently pretty mild. Guest guest
Hi Iris, I’m so happy to hear that you’re feeling soo well!! That’s wonderful news!! As you start eating new foods, let us know how things go. We can’t wait to hear how its helping you!! Take care and take it easy!!! in BC a short update, before going back to bed Well, I had my miotomy yesterday morning, and now I'm already back at home (-: I can tell you the lap was not that bad at all. I didn't need any kind of pain relief, neither morphine nor even tylanol. In a scale of 1-10 (in which 10 is a terrible pain), I can say in the begining I had a 2, and now it is hardly a 0.5 (-: The bad news are that during the lap, my surgeon, Dr. Vierra, found something rare, like a parasite on my spleen... He checked in order to find out what exactly it is, and apparently this is something really rare!!! (once again, I can't go for the common things... everything with me must be rare and complicated). He only found very few articles regarding it, and he's checking all over to see whether he can learn some more about it. So probably in the neerest future, maybe after I'm back for Israel, I'll have to have another lap surgery in order to take my spleen out )-: The (so called) good about it is the fact that at my age, the spleen doesn't really do much in the body, so it is no big deal keep on living without it. Thank you all for being here for me, and helping me through the hard times I had in the begining. I'm going to stay arround, and I'll do my best in order to help others in the future. You're a great community!!! Iris
