Guest guest
Hello techangel1972 In reference to your comment: Does anyone have to make themselves throw up like every 3 days becuz they have that "full" feeling in their throat becuz the food doesn't go down?? Yes, I think most of us do and most doctors advise trying to regurg all food from the esophagus before going to bed. This will help prevent aspiration. Food building up in the esophagus is also what causes it to stretch and that you don't want, so if you can get it up, do so. You are not suppose to be sedated when they do the manometry but some members have said they had the tube inserted while being sedated and the test done then when the sedation wore off. You might want to ask your doctor about this. Maggie Alabama
Guest guest
After my Heller Myotomy, they have been unsuccessful in getting the tube into my stomach. They must now perform an EGD on me and place the tube. The EGD is performed under conscious sedation, so you don't remember a thing. In a way this has been a blessing for me. I would much rather do it this way than running that tube through my nose!! Maybe you should ask your MD if this is an option for you. Guest guest
My manometry is in the top 10 worst experiences of my life. I sat down and counted. I don't even want to re-live it, but you are NOT alone. I regurge when I feel the need as well. Kinda makes you feel guilty like your a bulemic, but it's probably better for your esophegus to keep it from stretching out. It will keep you from choking later and could clear your blockage and allow other foods to pass, which if you are anything like me, you need to get all the food in there that you can just to survive. > > I had my Mam Test today and needless to say it didn't go well.
