Guest guest
Hi Barbara, When they did your Heller, did they do a fundoplication or wrap ? If they did you should not be getting so much acid.reflux. You should ask for medication to reduce the acid produced in the stomach - something like Nexium or Losec or one of those. The other reason for acid can be acid that is produced in your oesophagus, especially if it is a bit dilated. This happens when food trapped there starts to ferment and change (I hate using the word 'Rot'!) This acid is not quite as strong as stomach acid but can still cause pain and, especially when you lie down, it comes back up and burns the top half of your E. For this kind of acid there is no one remedy, but Tums help some and water others, or even a neutral food like Oatmeal porridge. Please keep on asking questions and learns all you can from the Web and the A website.
