Great news, we were all so convincing I worried I had chased him

away. Mike, I don't have a wrap and have no reflux and take no

meds. Mine was VATS surgery though. Congrats. In my research it

seems to be better to have surgery sooner than later so any scheduled

surgery date is good news, in my opinion. Good luck. Good for you

, I bet you've been working on him.

To everyone else... have a nice holiday season. I'm going to make an

extra prize winning recipe I bet all of us can eat.... It is called

chocolate eclair cake. You can find various recipes on the

internet. Basically, whole graham cracker crust. Layer of instant

pudding mixed w/ cool whip; another layer of graham crackers, another

layer of pudding cool whip mixture. Then a can of chocolate

frosting. Make 24 hours ahead. Sounds disgusting. I beat about 20

other cooks in our annual block party dessert contest. I added some

cream cheese also to the pudding mixture. Also full fat everything

(it was a contest!! I get competitive). There are differing recipes

if you search on google. I swear it was delicious. Although, there

was some left, sitting out in the sun and somehow a food fight

started and that was one of the first things to go along with a 7

layer taco dip. The only person not happy was a newer resident with

a brand new car. He doesn't have kids and obviously no sense of

humor when he came out and I was rinsing off the sidewalk by his

brand new car and a few specks of pudding splashed on his car.

It is important the cake sit over night and the graham crackers

soften. Usually I feel things need to be homemade from scratch and

all that guilt trip, but if this is prize-winning and they go back

for 2nds, then why work all day on something? This might be easy for

many of you to eat compared to cake which to me was not easy.

Great news for Mike and happy holidays and family times to everyone

here.

and Sandy,

Both of your posts cracked me up. The pie, the foodfight, the new car and

" non humourous new neighbor " ...great first impressions! For just a little bit,

I thought the foodfight was between adults!!! The way you slipped in the little

detail about kids was perfectly timed to keep me in suspense. I can just see the

expression on your neighbor's face as you are hosing his car. My life is so

dull...never had a foodfight, ever, not even in Jr. High. And , your

comments about Mike and his pizza and finally taking care of himself were

prizewinners, too. Ok, Mike...I like roller coasters too, but take it from me,

your life will NOT be a roller coaster if you listen to and stay off that

pizza for 2 weeks after your surgery. Trust me, pizza will never have tasted as

good as it will if you let tell you what to do during those two weeks and

you actually do it! I once rode a roller coaster 13 times in a row. Front

seat. Squealing with delight. It was a big sucker, too. One of those where you

couldn't see the bottom of the first hill because it looked like the track went

further back than the car at vertical. That will be a really good test for your

reflux. Better not eat pizza before you ride your next roller coaster. Well,

take care everyone. Eat some of Sandy's prize winning pie WITH cream cheese, of

course. Enjoy your time over the next few days. Despite the hassle of the

holidays, get sentimental!

, the food fight was adults, the kids wanted to get into it and

we could tell we were running out of food and still had some people

to " get " so we wouldn't let the kids do it. Sober too for the most

part. I had mixed feelings throwing some of the food because it was

a few months after my surgery and I could eat everything and hadn't

gotten to my dessert or the 7 layer dip yet.... but the food had been

out for several hours and we knew it probably wasn't safe to eat.

That new neighbor still runs from those of us with kids. Only our

group understands the desire to eat and taste enough to chew and

savor then regurg it back up just for the pleasure of having the

taste even if we can't eat it for real.
