Guest guest
Here's my latest story. I've had A for over 20 years (16 years Heller post op) and it's been pretty liveable - I've figured out how to cope. So I'm pushing 8 months pregnant and it's dramatically increased my reflux at night and I've had some bad spasms in the past month or so - because of the pregnancy I can't take my Ativan to help them go away. Last week, I went to see the Physicians Assist. at the GI office to see if there was something I could get to help (I really don't want any more bouts of 4 hours of pain and vomiting. I mention to him that in the spring, after I've recovered from the delivery, I will need to schedule some follow up as I haven't seen the doc in over 4 years and I'm do for an endoscopy. He tells me all about how great Botox is and great success, yadda yadda. I mention this group to him and said 'hey, my understanding is that Botox is temporary at best and it's really only a good solution for those who are not surgical candidtates' - well, he backpedaled quickly from that statement. It's good to be informed!! Moral of my story is THANKS to you all. Prior to finding this site, I would never have known that Botox was not a good option for me. Even after 20 years, I've learned so much from you all here. It's also been so wonderful to have a group that UNDERSTANDS. Happy Holidays and Happy Swallowing to you all!! -michelle in Virginia
