Guest guest Posted October 5, 2004 Report Share Posted October 5, 2004 To the person who takes Levsin on this list (sorry can't remember who it was), I got my doctor to let me try it after years of sleepless nights from mucous draining into my lungs at night. How big are the pills and are there any side effects? I'm kinda scared to take one before going to bed. Thats another thing, when do you take it, just before bedtime or couple hours before. I'm also worried about constipation, cause I only have set times I can go cause I'm home alone alot. Can't have my poop schedule messed up can we LOL! Guest guest Posted October 6, 2004 Report Share Posted October 6, 2004 I take Levsin. I have a g-tube so mine is liquid. I take it 4 times a day. It doesn't cause me to be constipated, but that is a side effect. I have the same bathroom problem, so I understand. It dries everything in your body, not just secretions in lungs. But I haven't had any side effects. I started at a lower dose, if that helped I don't know. I now take 5ml 4 times a day. I used to take 4ml 3 times. I used to take nifedipine and then nitro years ago for my spasms but the headaches and side effects were awful so I gave them up. They lowered my BP so much that I went into shock twice!! I also found that if my bottle was more than 2-3 months old, the effectiveness was greatly diminished and the side effects even worse. Can you share more of your experiences with Levsin? I can control my spasms pretty well but about a week ago I was up with pain and heaving for about 4 hours. IF the side effects aren't bad, I'd love to have another option. p.s.
