Guest guest
Jess, I'm so sorry to hear about your experience. I wanted to thank you for posting it though, because I am scheduled for one 9-16-04 at Bethesda North in Cincinnati OH. I think it helps to hear the good and bad so that I will be prepared for whatever comes! I'll be sure and post my experience after. Wish me luck! It seems as though I may need it! Guest guest
Well, I had my manometry test done yesterday and I would definately say it was horrible! LOL the nurse was very kind and gentle and had had it done 3 times herself because they have to practice on each other! I cannot imagine! She had a hard time feeding the tube down and of course, I did vomit! Surprised both of us because I had NO warning! She pulled it out and tried again because she felt it was not going into the stomach....duh! Probably not, that is why I was there! I can't get things through! It didn't work the second time either, but we did the test anyway and she felt it showed my motility was poor and that should be okay for my doctor. She offered to do it a 3rd time if I could tolerate it and of course I said PASS! Now I wait to hear from the Dr. to schedule my surgery. I'll keep you posted and cont. to read the informative posts here! Thanks! Rita
Guest guest
Hi Rita, I am sorry to hear your manometry went horrible, along with many others of us. That was by far, the worst test there is (for me anyways.), so you have that to be thankful for. The worst is over. Now, you can focus on meeting your surgeon, and staying healthy enough for surgery. Take care,

Guest guest
Jan, He has done about 35 of these and sees about 5 or more a year. He is very knowedgeble and ready to answer and and all questions. He called me today and said my Manometry test was inconclusive, but the fact that they couldn't get it down past my sphincter muscle coincides with Achalasia. He wants to do SX next week. He needs to schedule with my GI doctor who he wants along side for and endoscopy. I'll keep you posted and I would love to meet you one day!
