Guest guest
That is such wonderful news ! You deserve the very best...I'll be praying for a successful surgery and a speedy recovery! Enjoy your mini vacation! Hope you get a room with a view...and maybe a veranda...just don't let them give you an inside cabin!!! LOL JK I am just really happy for you! Sandi in No CA My pre-op!! Hello Everyone! I had my pre-op stuff done today. I took almost 2 hours. The nurse (a wonderful woman!) first took my bp, and then she went over any questions I had, and through a booklet of pain management, and other stuff. Then, she told me to go on clear fluids for 24 hours. But, my surgery is less than 24 hours away. After reading Jan's story, I put myself on a clear fluid diet this morning. Good thing. She was impressed that I had done my homework. Thanks, Jan!! Then I met my anesthesiologist (sp!!) and he seems nice. Went over any questions, etc. After meeting him, I had some blood taken. More than I thought, but as long as I don't look, I am ok!! When I got up to leave, I could see spots. Uh oh!! I knew that feeling from before! I grabbed a counter, and the receptionist took me to an office, and had me sit. Then a nurse quickly came, and made me lay down. I could see her standing there, but could not hear her, or see her face. She took my bp (again) and gave me juice. She said it really does not happen often, but because I had only been on clear fluids, that it can happen. 10 minutes later, I was fine. Then I had to call my surgeons office. I need to be admitted by 10:55 tomorrow morning! I can't wait. It is sooo odd. I am not scared. I kinda feel like I am going on vacation, and need to board my plane, or the cruise ship at that time. I guess I am odd! lol Oh well!! My " new " life is about to begin. I get the barium swallow Thursday sometime, and am scheduled to be released by 9:00am Friday. 3 days, and I will be home, and " fixed " . I can't wait. (did I say that already?) So this is my last post until I am better. Thanks again for everyones help and support. I have learned heaps from you all. Thanks to all you post-opers who have stayed to share your experiences, and to everyone else for your great words of encouragent on tough days. Until Friday!!!(maybe!!) 21 Chilliwack, BC
Guest guest
Your enthusiasm is so uplifting. My GI wants to give dilation on try and after that I will have a myotomy. We'll see how long the dilation works, I might get lucky. I have been terrified of this surgery. You outlook (and that stupid catheter) has helped immensly. I look forward to hearing from you when you get back. Best of luck ... and just to balance the universe, know that I'm over here being nervous for you, so go ahead and be elated and go on vacation! lol Best wishes, Jess > Hello Everyone! > > I had my pre-op stuff done today.
