Hi Siiri,

Welcome to the group. You are sure to find plenty of information about NonCardiac Chest Pain (NCCP) here as many of the members suffer from this. They will give you the information you need. I am fortunate in that I am one of the few who do not have chest pain any more.Do tell us more about yourself and your operation.

I went to your beautiful country many years ago. I had an aunt who married a Fin and I went to visit his people in Helsinki. It was a trip of a lifetime, and I remember the kindness and friendliness of the people whom I met.

Good wishes,

Hi AllI am so glad I finally found all of you!!! I am from Europe, Finland and have also lived in Canada and the States. It was in my stressfull consulting days when I fell ill with achalasia in Germany in year 1999. It took me 'only' one year and I was operated. So far I have not had anybody to talk about this as my family and close friends do not really understand the illness, while I am active and full of strength when not having the attacks.I have delivered 2 children during the illness, which went ok, but not normal as I could not hold inside about anything. I am 33 years old and you can see some photos under Siiri folder.I am still time to time very sick and I would like to know if any of you suffer from the chest pain related to achalasia? To my worries this is the greatest as it takes away all my consentration and planning of trips, going to playgrounds with kids etc. thus is always very difficult for me. Bianca and all of you others whose message I went through, I can only say that all the best and if you do not believe in the doctor who is taking care of you - Change! if you are interested I can let you know about my surgery ( quite extensive, but done by an A expert)

I suffer from really bad chest pain at times. There seems to be no rhyme or reason as to why they start. I just know they hurt. I usually can either take a nitro pill or an ativan and that helps but the last one I had lasted over 5 hrs. and ended me in the ER. They finally got it under control and I was so glad when the pain stopped.
